Jake Ferguson

Jake Ferguson is an award-winning musician and composer who, together with his long standing partner and legendary drummer Malcom Catto, founded the London-based musical collective The Heliocentrics. Together, they have written 2 musical scores and released many albums to critical acclaim and recorded with some of the most respected names in music – from Ethiopian jazz pioneer Mulatu Astatke, Shabaka Hutchings, DJ Shadow and Pharoahe Monch to Archie Shepp, Gaslamp Killer and afrobeat legend Orlando Julius.His solo project The Brkn Record is both musically and socially significant, with his black consciousness album, ‘The Architecture of Oppression’ serving as a committed and soulful response to ongoing and systemic anti-black racism, social oppression and state violence both in the UK and across the globe.
